What personal data we collect and why we collect it

  1. Comments
    When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data displayed in the comment form, as well as the visitor's IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam. An anonymized string created from your e-mail address (also known as a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you use it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment has been approved, your profile photo is publicly visible as part of your comment.
  2. Media
    If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images containing embedded location data (GPS EXIF). Website visitors can download and extract all location data from images on the website.
  3. Contact forms & Cookies
    If you leave a comment on our site, you can choose to save your name, e-mail address and website in cookies. This information is for your convenience, so you don't have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set several cookies to record your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days and screen options cookies last for one year. If you select "Remember me", your connection will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be deleted. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply indicates the publication ID of the article you have just modified. It expires after 1 day.
  4. Embedded content from other websites
    Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, integrate additional third-party tracking and monitor your interaction with such embedded content, including tracking. your interaction with embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
